I’m still not convinced that this is real.

Assuming it is, I’m so, so sorry to anyone who might be affected by this. Maybe–hopefully–the rest of the government will keep him from making any major changes, but even if we did get that lucky, the fact that the majority of voters (as far as I know) chose him is disgusting. The horrifying truth is that the people who supported him have been around us all along. It can snap some of us out of that denial or false hope causing us to think that, yes, things are bad, but they can’t be that bad. Yes, a horrifying amount of people would pick Trump over Clinton, but it wouldn’t be the majority.

And that’s another weird thing. People often think of the majority of a huge portion of a group. When it comes to the election, it means anything above half, even if it’s just by one vote. That tiny switch from having half the votes to having the majority of the votes critical. One half convincing a few more people can cause the other half to suffer.

Anyway, I was just wanting to remind everyone that it’s more than okay to be sad, angry, upset, LIVID… even if others tell you that it’s not a big deal. It’s okay to distance yourself from the whole event and give yourself a break. It’s okay to rant or complain (I mean, there’s a good reason to), and I hope you have safe people who will listen to you and share the frustration.

And to anyone this affects, I’m so sorry. You don’t deserve this. If you need help, someone to talk to (probably not great at this), or help paying for something, just let me know.

Sorry if this sounds ignorant or like I’m not grasping the situation. I don’t think I am.
